About the course

APS MCC – because Airline piloting is much more than flying the aircraft

APS is an Enhanced MCC training to Airline Pilot Standards (APS MCC) newly introduced by EASA: Annex I to ED Decision 2017/022/R ‘AMC/GM to Part-FCL — Amendment 3’ page 6-19. The main differences are:

  • double the time in the simulator
  • conducted in an airline environment
  • includes MCC, JOC and Airline operations scenario training
  • includes a final assessment with a certificate on your results

“The ATO should provide generic stand-alone or CAT-operator-specific APS MCC training, advanced swept-wing jet aeroplane training and advanced airline operations scenario training. In the case of generic stand-alone training, the ATO should establish appropriate documentation and manuals representative of a CAT operator, such as manuals for aeroplane original-equipment manufacturers (OEMs), standard operating procedures (SOPs), flight documentation, as well as reporting and documentation for management systems.”

For this reason, we created a virtual airline:

PIA has a fleet of 10 A320 aircrafts, operating from a single base which is Budapest, flying across Europe and to the Middle East. It is a profitable, well organized and developing airline, having 110 pilots and 220 cabin crew. The organization structure is detailed in the PIA OM A. PIA has all the departments that a real airline has, so during the execution of your flights you will have to communicate with those departments, should any problem occur. Identifying the responsible department or person in a huge multi company is essential for conducting a flight in an effective and economical way.
Due to the fact that PIA is a developing company, there are some indicators which are important to keep. Those are the safe operation, on time performance, fuel economy, cost minded operation and quality of passenger service.

Safety, punctuality, economy, in this order!
